7th Aug 18Following the Liverpool Premiere of Lily Cole’s film, ‘Balls,’ which was inspired by Emily Bronte’s classic, ‘Wuthering Heights,’ we joined the Reader Organisation’s Shared Reading group at Waterstones, Liverpool 1 last week, to explore one of the most iconic characters in gothic English Literature: Heathcliff.
The group read through Chapter Four of the novel, discovering and discussing the character’s Liverpool roots, his introduction to the Earnshaw family and the sibling rivalry that ensued amongst Heathcliff, Hindley and Cathy.
A poem by Emily Bronte, ‘Stanza,’ was a fitting conclusion to this inspiring shared reading session, evoking a true sense of celebration around Emily’s creative mission in life.
